Eric Smith
Vice President of Land Development
Eric Smith serves as Vice President of Land Development, assisting with project management, land acquisition and business development. Eric joined Pace Development Group in 2014. Eric has been involved in entitlement, permitting and development of 10,000 lots in the Charlotte Metro area.
He holds an Economics degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 1988 he went to work with SPATCO Environmental, an environmental consultant and environmental services contractor in Charlotte, where he helped with project management and business development throughout the southeast US.
After SPATCO, he worked as a general manager in the utility contracting industry and at Crosland Land as Land Development Manager. From 2003 until early 2010, he handled due diligence, permitting, budget preparation, contracts, amenity construction and project management for multiple Crosland Land residential neighborhood development projects in Charlotte and surrounding communities.
In 2012 Eric joined Centerline Homes as Vice President of Acquisition and Development. In May 2013, Centerline sold the vast majority of their assets to Standard Pacific Homes. As a part of the sale, Eric accepted a position with Standard Pacific Homes in their Charlotte office as Director of Land Development.
He assists with many aspects of the business. He is a licensed real estate broker in NC and SC. Eric is married with two children. He is an active member of Myers Park United Methodist and spends much time at Lake Junaluska, NC. He enjoys hunting, fishing, golf and tennis.
